MEGAPHONE PROGRAMME x FRESHLY GREATED
Megaphone is a FREE creative activism programme for young activists who use
creativity to talk about the issues that matter to them, their peers and their
community.
This year Young Norfolk Arts is teaming up with Freshly Greated to deliver a
programme for their Young Producers aged 14-18 based in Great Yarmouth. This
programme run from the 17th November 2022 to the 2nd February 2023, giving an
introduction to professional local creatives in Norfolk and to develop the skills and
confidence to find their place in activism and to amplify their voice.

PROGRAMME: ALL SESSIONS HELD AT PRIMEYARC GREAT YARMOUTH

Taster Session Thursday 17th November 2022
7pm - 7:10pm: Welcome
7:10pm - 7:50pm: Letters of Outrage by visual artist Holly Sandiford.
Create your own letters of outrage using coloured fabric to express your anger and
fears over the changing climate, inspired by Great Yarmouth’s needleworker
Lorina Bulwar.
7:50pm - 8:20pm: DIY Protest Histories: Zine-Making with Laura Moseley
Create a zine with Laura Moseley, founder of Common Threads Press, with a
whistlestop tour through some of the most significant independent
publications from political movements.
*Zines are a small, self-published or handmade booklet that nurtures radical
action.
8:20pm - 9pm: Protest in Music with Afiya Lucombe
Explore examples of songs that were made in protest showing different types
of approaches you can take with a song in protest; being direct, or keeping it
subtle in the choice of music/lyricism.
